Leganes manager Javier Aguirre hit out against Barcelona over their signing of striker Martin Braithwaite.

Barcelona were granted permission outside of the winter transfer window to sign the Leganes striker.

"As they say in Mexico, they've screwed us," said Aguirre.

FC Cincinnati have signed Siem de Jong on a free transfer from Ajax.

"We believe Siem will play an important role in adding to the final third and efficiency of our attack," said Cincinnati general manager Gerard Nijkamp.

"Not only does he have an impressive intelligence and skill set, he has also played in some of the most prestigious competitions and has been a leader on and off the pitch throughout his career. We feel he will be a great addition to our club."

The 31-year-old de Jong has previously played for Newcastle and PSV, while also representing Holland at the international level.

Barcelona officially completed their signing of Leganes striker Martin Braithwaite for $19.4 million.

Braithwaite signed a 4-and-a-half year deal with his new club.

Barcelona were granted an emergency exception to sign Braithwaite following injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele.

Leganes will not be allowed to sign a replacement for Braithwaite.

Braithwaite has already agreed to personal terms with Barcelona. 

Barcelona were granted 15 days to sign a new striker following injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele.

Leganes will not be able to sign a replacement for the 28-year-old striker. 

Mario Pasalic is set to join Atalanta from Chelsea this summer in a $16.2 million transfer move.

Pasalic moved to Chelsea in 2014, but has yet to make one appearance for the senior side.

The 25-year-old joined Atalanta on loan in 2018, before extending his loan for another season last summer.

The Chicago Fire have signed Gaston Gimenez to a Designated Player contract.

The 28-year-old, who currently plays for Velez Sarsfield, will cost the club $4.3 million.

Gimenez has played his entire career in Argentina, including getting 1 cap in 2018.

A total of $824 million was spent on 4,108 transfers during the winter window, according to FIFA.

93% of that expenditure came from Europe's top 5 leagues.

English clubs spend $298 million in the window, a 69% jump from 2019.

The overall total was also an increase from the $646 million spent in 2019. 

Chelsea have agreed in principle to purchase Hakim Ziyech from Ajax for $43.5 million.

Chelsea attempted to sign Ziyech over the winter, but Ajax weren't willing to sell.

The club will also let Pedro leave on a free this summer.

Willian, also a free agent this summer, is looking for more than a 1-year deal to return to the club. 

Nashville SC has acquired centerback Walker Zimmerman from LAFC, reported The Athletic.

Nashville sent back at least $950,000 in allocation money and a 2020 international spot for Zimmerman.

Zimmerman, a U.S. international, played in 51 matches for LAFC in the past two seasons. 

Barcelona B have signed Santiago Ramos Mingo on a free transfer from Boca Juniors.

The 18-year-old signed a 3-year deal with Barcelona, which includes a $66 million buyout clause.

The deal has sparked controversy within the Argentine club, with team president Jorge Amor Ameal hitting out at Barcelona's practices. 

"Legally we are in a position to state that the player is ours. There is a clause in FIFA ensuring that the player belongs to us because of his income. Our lawyers are working and we will fight it."
